    2. Cons: COST. Without insurance costs approx $1000/month . Prior Authorization needed with a lot of insurance companies and will be denied without diabetes diagnosis.

    1. Pro: Great weight loss 15% during trials. A lot of companies are approving Prior auths for this med if BMI is over 30 or 27 with comorbidity. If your BMI is less because of being on the Mounjaro I would write the PA with that information 

    2. NOW COVERED By Mass health if you meet criteria!

  • Ozempic: (Semaglutide- Diabetic version)

  • Weekly injectable -If your plan covers Wegovy we should try to use that first to avoid using the diabetic medication.

    1. Pro: Great weight loss 15% during trials.

    2. Cons: shortage, by using it for weight loss diabetics have less chance getting it at pharmacy

  • Saxenda  (Liraglutide- weigh loss version) daily injection

    1. Pro: Good weight loss 9.2% in trials
