Am I Eligible for a GLP-1?
Adults with an initial body mass index (BMI) of ≥30 kg/m2 (obesity) will be considered. Patients with a BMI of ≥27 kg/m2 (overweight) who also have at least one weight-related co-morbid condition (e.g., hypertension, dyslipidemia, strong family history of heart disease, etc.) may also be candidates.
How GLP-1 medications work?
Most GLP-1 medications are given as a once-weekly injection using a very small needle, typically in the abdomen. These medications support weight loss through a dual-action approach. In the digestive system, they slow the movement of food, helping you feel full sooner and stay full longer—naturally reducing calorie intake. In the brain, they signal fullness and help regulate appetite, making it easier to manage cravings and support healthier eating habits.
When combined with nutrition, movement, and lifestyle changes, GLP-1 medications can be an effective tool for sustainable weight management.
